Job summary

Elsevier’s Strategy team is seeking a Senior Strategy Manager to partner with senior leaders, lead company-wide strategy initiatives, and shape long-term direction. You will drive strategic planning, prepare executive presentations, and synchronize cross-functional efforts with Finance, Product, Technology, Marketing and Sales.

This role is highly visible, offering the opportunity to influence decision-making and deliver high-impact projects across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead strategic planning and portfolio-level thinking in a complex organisation.
• Experience developing strategic roadmaps and translating priorities into actionable plans.
• Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including market and data analysis.
• Experience leading strategic projects from scoping through execution and recommendation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Interest in business growth, market opportunities, portfolio strategy, and organisational transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy planning for Elsevier's portfolio of businesses, coordinating with Finance and the wider strategy team.
• Develop mid- and long-term strategic roadmaps and prioritize resource allocation.
• Collaborate with EVP Strategy to refine the company strategy.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Marketing, Sales, HR, and Corporate Affairs to align on priorities.
• Articulate the strategy narrative and communicate priorities to multiple stakeholders.
• Deliver strategic reports to leadership teams and provide analysis for investor relations.
• Scope and execute strategic projects, including data and market analysis, interviews, and synthesis.
• Drive cross-organization strategic initiatives and monitor progress against objectives.
