Job summary

Elsevier seeks a seasoned strategy professional to shape growth across our R&D-focused portfolio. You will partner with product, commercial, and senior leadership to identify opportunities, guide roadmaps, and drive execution with product teams.

The role requires 3+ years in strategy consulting or equivalent in R&D-intensive industries, with a track record of turning insights into strategic action. London or Amsterdam locations supported, with flexible working options.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
Advanced degree (MBA, MSc or PhD) is highly desirable.
Strategy consulting experience (3+ years) with a top-tier firm or strong in-house team.
Experience in R&D-intensive industries such as chemicals, materials, semiconductors, or automotive systems.
Ability to develop strategic frameworks and translate insights into actionable narratives.
Experience with software and/or data-driven products is a plus.
Familiarity with AI/ML applications and SaaS business models is advantageous.
Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead development of product-level strategies for agentic solutions and databases.
Guide product leadership on roadmaps aligned with portfolio strategy and market needs.
Monitor competitive landscape including partnerships and potential M&A.
Conduct in-depth market research to identify growth opportunities.
