Job summary

National Highways in the United Kingdom is seeking a role within the Government Relations team to support its engagement with the Department for Transport and broader government. The role helps shape decisions affecting the Strategic Road Network by developing and managing the relationship with government.

You will build strong relationships with DfT officials, monitor issues, and assist in coordinating the engagement cycle to enable high-quality conversations and timely responses.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of working with Government or operating in a highly scrutinised environment.
• Organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise across different areas.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with Department for Transport officials and wider government.
• Maintain knowledge of issues impacting the government relationship and engage in proactive dialogue.
• Support the Head of Government Relations and Team Leaders with issue resolution from DfT and government.
• Assist in planning and managing the formal engagement cycle with DfT and government, including agendas and papers.
