Job summary

Airedale by Modine is seeking an experienced Buyer to join the Purchasing team. You will manage the purchase of goods, indirect materials and maintenance services, supporting local production within a global supply chain.

Key responsibilities include supplier evaluation, price negotiation, and ensuring quality compliance while collaborating with engineering, finance and stores. This role is based in the UK and offers growth with a leading critical cooling solutions provider.

Qualifications

• Experience of purchasing in a manufacturing industry.
• Good communication skills, internally and externally across levels.
• Ability to analyse data and charts, and propose effective policies.
• Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint and Outlook office skills.
• Supply chain management principles across a diverse supplier base.
• Track record of cost reduction achievements through price negotiation or partnering with suppliers to engineer out cost.
• CIPS qualification would be an advantage.
• SAP functional knowledge and usage would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control the Purchase of goods, indirect materials and maintenance services.
• Support local production requirements within a growing global supply chain.
• Assist our global Purchasing team and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Monitor KPIs and drive year-on-year spend savings.
• Evaluate market prices to secure reduced long-term prices.
• Ensure supplier products meet specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate purchasing activities daily by interpreting orders and production documents.
