Job summary

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Fleet and Engineering Manager to oversee the transport fleet, equipment, and facilities across multiple locations including Exeter and other fleet workshops. The role focuses on compliance, performance, and service delivery.

You will lead maintenance, fleet administration, hydrant maintenance and related teams, ensuring DVSA compliance and adherence to NFCC guidance, PUWER and LOLER regulations.

Qualifications

• CPC in Road Haulage required.
• Experience with fleet maintenance and asset management.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, legal, efficient and effective operation of the Service’s transport fleet.
• Lead Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance Teams, Fleet Administration Team and Hydrant Maintenance Team.
• Develop and implement fleet strategies, policies and procedures and operational plans.
