Job summary

Imperium Commodity Search is seeking a Financial Controller to own finance across a fast-growing physical trading business. You will manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital and capital allocation, partnering with CEO, trading, operations and technology to scale the trading book.

You will drive transaction-level cash flow forecasting, strengthen financial controls, and deliver live MI and dashboards for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience managing cash flow, liquidity and working capital in a high‑activity trading business.
• Strong ability to forecast cash needs across trading and operations.
• Proven track record in financial controls, governance and audit readiness.
• Delivery of live financial MI, dashboards and management reporting for senior leadership.
• Exposure to commodity trading finance, trade finance facilities and lender reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own cash flow, liquidity, working capital and capital allocation for the trading business.
• Develop transaction-level cash flow forecasting and liquidity frameworks.
• Manage short-term liquidity, payment priorities and funding requirements.
• Own financial control of the physical trade lifecycle: P&L, inventory, receivables and costs.
• Create live financial MI and dashboards, ensuring data integrity across systems.
• Coordinate with technology to reconcile data into a single financial source of truth.
• Lead management accounts, forecasting and reporting for the Board and investors.
• Oversee banking, credit and trade finance facilities, plus lender reporting and modelling.
• Supervise receivables, credit exposure and trade credit insurance.
• Maintain treasury and payment controls across multiple banks and currencies.
