Job summary

Imperium Commodity Search is seeking a Financial Controller to own cash flow, liquidity and capital allocation for a rapidly growing physical trading business in London. You will manage P&L, inventory, receivables and margins, while developing live MI and dashboards for senior stakeholders.

You will partner with CEO, trading, operations and technology teams to build robust financial infrastructure, reporting, and funding capability as the business scales internationally.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in finance leadership for a growing physical trading business.
• Strong cash flow, liquidity and capital allocation expertise.
• Ability to deliver live financial MI and reliable management reporting.
• Experience coordinating with banking, credit and trade finance facilities.
• Commercial mindset with ability to challenge trade economics where needed.

Responsibilities

• Own cash flow, liquidity, working capital and capital allocation for the trading book.
• Develop transaction-level cash flow forecasting and link payments, inventory and receivables.
• Ensure short-term liquidity and prioritise payments for the trading book.
• Own financial control of P&L, inventory, receivables, costs and margins.
• Partner with trading and operations to analyse economics and ROIC.
• Develop live dashboards providing visibility on performance and capital deployment.
• Collaborate with technology to reconcile data into a single truth source.
• Lead management accounts, forecasting and board reporting.
• Oversee banking, credit and trade finance facilities and related reporting.
• Monitor receivables, credit exposure and insurance, with clear ageing and limits.
• Strengthen treasury controls across multiple banks, currencies and jurisdictions.
