Job summary

Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a senior finance leader to provide strategic financial leadership and embedded business partnering across divisions. You will lead budget setting, financial planning and performance reporting to enable informed decision‑making.

You will challenge financial performance, support workforce decisions, drive efficiencies and transformation, and develop the financial management team while strengthening governance and cross‑system collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strategic financial leadership and embedded business partnering to designated clinical and operational divisions.
• Lead budget setting, financial planning, forecasting and performance reporting to support decision‑making.
• Constructive challenge and assurance on financial performance, risks, workforce decisions, business cases and service developments.
• Develop the financial management team and promote strong governance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Promote strong financial governance and accountability across clinical, operational and corporate teams.
• Support identification and delivery of recurrent efficiencies, productivity improvements and transformation opportunities.
• Ensure resources are used effectively and services remain affordable, sustainable and focused on delivering value for patients.
• Deputise for the Head of Financial Management and Planning as required.
