Job summary

The Met Office is hiring a Finance Business Partner to join the Finance Business Support Team. You will provide expert financial guidance to support key decisions across domains, translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.

This full-time role (37 hours) offers hybrid working. It is a temporary position until 31 March 2028, with potential to develop into a permanent role, and will involve engaging with senior stakeholders to drive performance and robust cost

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in a business partner role.
• Ability to provide expert financial advice to senior managers on complex issues.
• Strong communication to challenge and influence at senior level.

Responsibilities

• Provide valuable financial advice and insight to inform strategic initiatives and business cases.
• Translate and present complex financial information in a clear, impactful way.
• Provide analysis, reports and insight on the financial position to ensure targets are met.
• Challenge and influence financial plans and highlight risks and opportunities to budget holders.
• Maintain the financial control environment with compliance to internal controls and legislation.
