Sellick Partnership is seeking a Finance Business Partner for a Local Authority in the Bedford area, covering Children’s Social Care and Education. This interim, part-time role delivers strategic financial guidance, forecasting and robust challenge across high-value services.

You will partner with senior leaders to drive financial analysis, budgets and long-term plans, while supporting savings initiatives. Hybrid working and immediate start available.

Qualifications

• We require strong local authority/public sector finance experience.
• Experience of working within Children’s Social Care and/or Education.
• Solid understanding of local government financial management and budgetary control.
• Proven business partnering experience with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to challenge constructively and translate complex financial information.
• Experience in interim environments and hitting the ground running.
• CCAB or equivalent professional qualification.

Responsabilités

• Acting as a trusted financial adviser to senior managers across Children’s Social Care and Education.
• Providing high-quality financial analysis, forecasting and budget monitoring.
• Supporting the development and delivery of medium- and long-term financial plans.
• Challenging budget holders on financial performance, expenditure and savings opportunities.
• Providing clear financial information and insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Supporting the identification and delivery of savings and transformation programmes.
• Contributing to financial reporting for senior management and governance forums.
• Working collaboratively with operational colleagues to improve financial control and outcomes.
• Providing financial modelling and scenario analysis where required.
