Job summary

Sellick Partnership is assisting a Local Authority in finding an experienced Finance Business Partner to support the Children’s Social Care and Education directorates on an interim, part-time basis.

The role requires strong local government experience, excellent financial modelling and the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders. Hybrid working arrangements are available, with a flexible 3-days-per-week schedule.

Qualifications

• Strong local authority/public sector finance experience.
• Experience with Children\'s Social Care and/or Education is preferred.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insight.
• Proven business partnering with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial insight, challenging budgets and forecasts.
• Support development of medium- and long-term financial plans for Children’s Services.
• Challenge budget holders on financial performance and savings opportunities.
• Provide clear financial information to support strategic decisions.
• Contribute to financial reporting and governance forums.
