Job summary

Herts & Essex Multi Academy Trust in Bishop's Stortford is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations to join the Executive Team and shape the financial and operational future of the Trust.

You will lead finance, estates and operations at a pivotal growth stage, with potential progression to Chief Financial Officer as the Trust expands, and you will work closely with Trustees and senior leaders to drive strategic change and educational impact.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with significant senior leadership experience in finance.
• Strong strategic planning, governance, audit and risk management skills.
• Experience in a Multi-Academy Trust or education setting is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen and develop the Trust's finance, estates and operational functions to ensure financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team; potential evolution into Chief Financial Officer role.
