Job summary

The Wellcome Sanger Institute invites applications for Head of Financial Business Partnering for Scientific Platform Services. You will guide investments, resources, and service delivery to support our scientific mission, leading a small partnering team across Genomic Platforms, Cellular Platforms and Technical Development & Scale-Up.

Reporting to the CFO, you will shape costing and pricing, improve performance, and contribute to external commercial opportunities while balancing cost, capacity

Qualifications

• Senior finance business partner or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and business case development.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and build trusted relationships.
• Experience with pricing/standard costing in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Guide senior leaders on financial planning, scenario modelling, and capital investment business cases.
• Develop and implement costing and pricing models for internal services and external opportunities.
• Translate financial data into performance measures and clear recommendations.
• Shape commercial proposals and support negotiations with scientific colleagues and Finance.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance business partners.
• Improve processes, reporting, and controls to support governance.
