Job summary

Michael Page Finance is seeking a Director of Finance for an education Not-For-Profit organisation in Bolton. You will steer financial strategy, oversee day‑to‑day activity, and ensure responsible use of resources while reporting clearly to executives and trustees.

You will lead a central finance team, shaping planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, audit, treasury and compliance, with a focus on sustainable growth and value for children’s outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with senior leadership experience.
• Proven governance, audit and risk management track record.
• Experience delivering organisational improvement through financial management.
• Experience across education/public sector/charity sectors.
• Strong strategic mindset and ability to translate complex financial information.

Responsibilities

• Strategic financial planning across the trust and its services.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and statutory reporting processes.
• Manage audit, treasury and regulatory compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Provide financial leadership to the CEO, Trustees and senior leaders.
