Job summary

Accountable Recruitment Limited partners with a rapidly growing manufacturing business near Chester to recruit a commercially minded Financial Controller. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead the finance function and drive operational performance.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting, ERP/Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-site teams across UK operations and international group.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACCA/CIMA/ACA credentials.
• Experience in manufacturing finance environments.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, group reporting and SOX controls.
• Experience across multiple sites or international teams.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Excel for large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review monthly management accounts for the UK entity.
• Support consolidation activities aligning with group reporting standards.
• Prepare variance analysis, cost reviews and performance insights for senior management.
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with UK GAAP and internal policies.
• Oversee transactional finance activities with hands-on oversight.
• Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with operational teams to gather data and challenge assumptions.
• Integrate financial forecasts from international operations into group models.
• Support product costing, margin analysis and inventory valuation.
• Assist with stock reconciliations and production cost tracking.
• Align accounting practices, controls, and reporting between UK and international group.
• Support data migration, process mapping and internal controls development.
• Assist SOX audits and remediation tracking.
