Job summary

New Leaf Search, in partnership with a global captive vehicle finance provider, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the Accounting and Tax function across the UK and Ireland from its Midlands hub. Reporting to the CFO, you will drive statutory reporting, tax compliance, and governance while steering transformation and automation.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification, proven finance leadership, strong IFRS and UK tax knowledge, and a track record of building

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience as Financial Controller or senior finance leader
• Strong IFRS, local GAAP and UK tax knowledge
• Experience in captive financial services, asset finance or leasing desirable
• Leadership of finance teams and governance

Responsibilities

• Lead Accounting and Tax function across the UK & Ireland
• Deliver statutory, regulatory and group reporting under IFRS and GAAP
• Own period-end close, balance sheet integrity and financial control processes
• Lead corporate tax, VAT and compliance activities
• Manage external audits and maintain strong internal controls
• Partner with Capital Markets and Business Control teams to optimise funding, cash flow and performance
• Drive finance transformation through process improvement, automation and technology
• Develop and lead a high-performing finance team with coaching and succession planning
• Champion Power BI, Power Automate and other digital reporting solutions
• Promote a proactive no-surprises culture across the finance function
