Strategic Finance Business Partner (Enabling Services)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Finance Business Partner.

North Northamptonshire Council was established in 2021. Four districts andhalf of one county council came together to form one of the largest unitary councils in the country.

North Northamptonshire Council have an established network of senior leaders from CEO to Assistant Director level that are working together to build a supportive "one-Council" culture which is central to their approach and helps to build solid foundations needed to drive future service improvements. This is an excellent opportunity to play an integral part in this as the Strategic Finance Business Partner.

What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities of the Strategic Finance Business Partner will include:

• Supporting Enabling Services including the Chief Executive, Finance, Legal, HR, Customer Services and IT.
• Providing effective management and control across Enabling Services for the annual revenue budget, the Medium-Term Financial Strategy and the capital programme.
• Overall financial governance ensuring controls are in place and are being effectively maintained.
• Take a leading role across the organisation in supporting Executive Directors, Assistant Directors and Service Managers in the overall stewardship of the Council's finances.

You will have the drive, initiative, confidence and creativity needed to shape services, focus on emerging priorities and deliver excellent services for residents and local communities.

The successful candidate will be able to put in practice a wide range of their finance skills and business acumen as we shape our finances to assist in the delivery of our corporate priorities and help us develop excellent services for our residents. There will be challenges, however with challenges comes unique, career defining opportunities.
