Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a motivated Planning Advisor to engage with Local Planning Authorities, advise on planning applications, and coordinate the Agency’s planning responses to protect the environment. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with councils, developers, and regulators while contributing to sustainable growth.

You will work within the Sustainable Places team, interacting with technical colleagues, and may participate in incident response training.

Qualifications

• Degree in an environmental discipline or planning field.
• Experience in Town and Country Planning or related areas is desirable.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a range of audiences and manage relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage engagement with Local Planning Authorities to advise on planning applications and pre-application advice.
• Coordinate EA responses to planning consultations to protect and enhance the environment.
• Develop relationships with developers, consultants, water companies and government departments as needed.
