Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Director of Governance, Legal and Compliance to lead legal, governance and regulatory strategy across a £4.6 billion organisation. The role sits at executive level, influencing policy, public confidence and patient safety across Scotland’s largest health system.

You will work with Board members and clinical leaders to shape strategy, strengthen governance, and deliver major programmes that transform efficiency, safety and accountability.

Qualifications

• Professional legal qualification (Solicitor or Advocate) with current eligibility to practice in Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Lead at scale shaping and delivering Board-wide legal and regulatory strategy across NHSGGC (£4.6B)
• Influence nationally representing NHSGGC at senior forums
• Drive major improvement programmes that enhance patient safety and public confidence
• Strengthen governance with robust, transparent systems
• Collaborate with Board members, Executive Directors and clinical leaders
• Develop high-performing teams and mature portfolios across the organisation
