Job summary

Step Ahead Recruitment Ltd is helping a Berkshire-based data centre specialist recruit a Technical Director – Data Centre Solutions. The role blends senior technical pre-sales leadership with a strategic remit, reporting to the CEO and joining the senior management team.

Hybrid work with some travel; salary up to £100,000 plus an annual bonus of 25–30%. You'll lead technical discovery, shape solutions with customers, collaborate with sales, and help define new services while avoiding day-to-day

Qualifications

Extensive data centre technical experience including physical IT infrastructure.
Strong pre-sales, solutions or customer-facing experience.
Experience shaping complex, high-value opportunities from discovery through to solution.
Strong understanding of pricing, margin, risk and deliverability in technical deals.
Experience developing new services, solutions or propositions.
Strategic, entrepreneurial and pragmatic approach for a growing, agile business.

Responsibilities

Act as the senior technical lead in complex customer meetings, bids and pre-sales opportunities.
Work alongside sales to understand customer requirements and shape technically sound, commercially viable solutions.
Provide senior input into proposals, scopes, solution designs and delivery models.
Identify and develop new services and propositions based on customer and market needs.
Provide technical advice and assurance on complex or higher-risk opportunities.
Develop strategic relationships with technology partners, suppliers and delivery partners.
Contribute to company strategy as part of the senior management team.
