SmartSearch is seeking a Business Data Analyst to shape data initiatives through robust business analysis and stakeholder engagement. You will translate business needs into actionable requirements, with emphasis on reporting, insight, and process improvement.

The role requires 5-8 years of BA experience in data or analytics projects, strong SQL and Power BI understanding, and proficiency in data modelling to drive meaningful business value.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to elicit and document business requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Working knowledge of SQL to query, validate, and analyse data for requirements.
• Experience facilitating workshops and creating process maps for future-state solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation activities with stakeholders to understand business needs across data initiatives.
• Document clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and artefacts for delivery.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and interviews to gather insights and refine priorities.
• Produce process maps and analyze workflows to identify improvements and support design.
• Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
