Job summary
SmartSearch is seeking a Business Data Analyst in a hybrid Ilkley-based role. You will shape data and analytics initiatives through strong business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and requirements definition.
Report to the Interim Director of Data and BI and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for reporting, insight, and process improvement. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years BA experience with data/analytics projects, strong SQL, Power BI and data modelling knowledge,
Qualifications
- Strong experience gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements.
- Translate requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops and interviews to refine priorities and requirements.
- Create process maps and analyze current/future workflows for improvements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to deliver data solutions aligned to needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation across data and analytics initiatives.
- Document clear business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to refine priorities.
- Produce process maps and analyse workflows for improvements.
- Support Agile delivery and backlog refinement.
