Gateshead Council is seeking a Cyber Security Manager to lead a robust security function and protect digital services for residents and partners. The role is based at Gateshead Civic Centre with a hybrid pattern and 60% office presence.

You will shape strategy, manage a team of specialists, and deliver innovative security solutions while ensuring compliance and resilience across the council's ICT systems. If you have a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and a track record in cyber risk

Formación

• A degree in a relevant subject or significant equivalent experience in a senior cyber security role.
• CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional or similar industry recognised cyber security qualification.
• Extensive experience leading cyber security services within a large, complex organisation, including managing technical teams and resources.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing cyber security strategies, policies and frameworks, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop the Council's Cyber Security Team, ensuring systems remain secure and resilient.
• Shape and deliver the cyber security strategy, standards and frameworks across the organisation.
• Lead governance, risk, compliance and assurance programmes with regular risk assessment and reporting.
• Design and implement security controls that enable innovation while protecting critical services.
• Identify, assess and manage cyber security risks with effective mitigation strategies.
