Job summary

Local Authority is seeking an interim Procurement Category Manager to lead the Corporate category, delivering compliant, value-for-money procurement solutions that support strategic objectives. Based in London with hybrid working (2 days onsite).

You will manage end-to-end procurements across professional services, HR, ICT and corporate contracts, ensuring PA23 compliance and achieving identified savings and social value outcomes.

Qualifications

• MCIPS or significant public sector procurement experience required.
• Experience delivering procurements under PA23 (Procurement Act 2023).
• Proven ability to manage corporate procurement categories.

Responsibilities

• Lead Corporate category procurements (Professional Services, HR, ICT, Consultancy, Contracts).
• Develop and implement category strategies aligned to priorities.
• Manage end-to-end procurement from market engagement to award.
• Ensure compliance with PA23 and regulations.
• Provide expert procurement advice to commissioners and budget holders.
• Draft tender documents, evaluation criteria and contract schedules.
• Drive savings, cost avoidance and social value outcomes.
• Support contract mobilisation and handover to management.
