Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Strategic Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of high-value contracts and maximise commercial opportunities within NHS guidelines. You will report to the Deputy Director of Procurement and provide expert contractual advice across clinical, operational and finance teams.

The role focuses on negotiating, implementing, monitoring performance against KPIs, and mitigating risk, with the aim of driving annual procurement

Qualifications

• Experience in negotiating large supplier contracts within a public sector framework.
• Ability to analyse complex data to inform contract performance and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategic contracts valued > £100m per year.
• Lead contract performance, risk, and supplier relationship management.
• Drive procurement savings and cost improvements of ~£4m per year.
• Advise clinical, operational, and finance colleagues on contractual matters.
• Deputise for the Deputy Director of Procurement when required.
