Job description

About Us

Climate Arc (Arc) is a philanthropic organization working to accelerate corporate climate transitions by unlocking the trillions of dollars of private capital required to meet global goals. We ensure that financial decision makers have the tools, data, and skillsets needed to direct capital to the necessary solutions at speed and scale. Arc implements its strategy through grantmaking and proprietary products and programs delivered by our in-house capability.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and strategic communicator to join our growing Development team in a newly created role. The Strategic Content & Funding Proposals Manager will be responsible for crafting high-quality, compelling funding proposals and external narratives that drive Climate Arc's strategic positioning and fundraising success. This role will translate complex technical ideas into clear, engaging content tailored to a range of audiences—from global philanthropic foundations to policy thought leaders.

You'll collaborate closely with our Program and Communications & Engagement teams to develop persuasive pitches, proposals, and thought leadership materials that translate Arc's mission and insights for key audiences and elevate the collective voice of the climate finance ecosystem to the benefit of all our partners. This is a dynamic role that blends strategic thinking, writing excellence, and a deep understanding of what motivates funders and external stakeholders.

What You Will Be Doing
  1. Research and identify strategic funding opportunities from philanthropic foundations, corporate funders, and individual funders aligned with Arc's mission and goals.
  2. Lead the development of persuasive concept notes, proposals, reports, decks, and other donor-facing materials—ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with Arc's strategy and voice.
  3. Develop and manage a central library of proposal templates, language, and core content, streamlining proposal generation and ensuring quality and consistency.
  4. Tailor messaging to diverse audiences - from grant reviewers to high-level donors - adapting tone and format for maximum impact, while ensuring a clear and consistent message.
  5. Work closely with program managers, leadership, and other departments to gather the necessary data and insights to craft winning proposals and presentations.
  6. Maintain an up-to-date calendar of grant opportunities, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure timely submissions.
  7. Conduct in-depth research to support proposal development and storytelling, including data gathering, case studies, and background information that strengthen the case for funding.
  8. Monitor and synthesize developments in the climate finance and philanthropy landscape to inform proposal strategy and positioning.
Requirements
  • Experience in grant writing, strategic communications or proposal development, ideally within the climate, nature or environment sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in securing philanthropic funding or influencing key stakeholders through written communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills—able to distill complex, technical concepts into engaging and accessible narratives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with diverse teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Interest in or experience with climate change, finance, policy, or systems-level change is an asset.
Benefits

  • Enhanced family pay and leave policies
  • Professional development program
  • Professional membership paid (if applicable)
