Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Group Category Lead Construction and Infrastructure to shape procurement strategies across major programmes in construction, civil engineering and infrastructure. You will influence high-value sourcing decisions, optimise supply chain performance and build strong supplier partnerships for long-term value.

The role operates at group level with national coverage, offering hybrid working with days onsite and from home.

Qualifications

• Extensive procurement experience in construction and infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing high-value sourcing and supplier performance at scale.
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms and commercial models.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end category strategies for construction and infrastructure.
• Lead procurement activities including tendering, negotiation, and awards.
• Build strategic supplier relationships and performance frameworks.
• Advise stakeholders on sourcing approaches and contract best practice.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and risk reduction.
