Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Group Category Lead Construction and Infrastructure to shape procurement strategies across major construction, civil engineering and infrastructure programmes. The role operates at group level with senior stakeholders, aiming to optimise supply chain performance and deliver long-term value.

You will drive category strategies, lead tendering and negotiation, and build strong supplier partnerships, contributing to national infrastructure and defence programmes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in sourcing and procurement in complex environments.
• Proven expertise in construction and infrastructure categories.
• Experience managing framework agreements and supplier performance at scale.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end category strategies for construction and infrastructure.
• Lead complex procurement activities including tendering, negotiation and contracts.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships and performance frameworks.
• Advise on commercial models, sourcing approaches and contract best practice.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, risk reduction and sustainable value.
