Job summary

Persimmon Homes is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our Commercial team. You will be responsible for sourcing and ordering materials, ensuring best value and adherence to group deals across multiple developments.

You will schedule materials, calculate quantities from drawings, monitor stock levels, and work closely with Site and Contract Managers to process requisitions efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Buyer in a construction company or similar.
• Proficient in Excel for data handling and reporting.
• Ability to take-offs from drawings and prepare material quantities.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Adaptable and able to work effectively with site teams and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Material scheduling for multiple live and upcoming developments.
• Calculating bulk quantities of bricks, blocks and tiles and coordinating with manufacturers.
• Monitoring regional bulk material levels to avoid shortfalls or over-ordering.
• Submitting material cost budgets to department surveyors and flagging losses or thefts.
• Collaborating closely with Site and Contract Managers to process requisitions efficiently.
