Job summary

Persimmon Homes in Leeds is seeking an experienced Buyer to source and order materials for current and upcoming developments, ensuring best value and compliant group deals. You will report to the Commercial team and collaborate with site and contract managers to keep projects on track.

The role demands strong numeracy, Excel proficiency, robust negotiation skills, and a full driving licence, with the aim of maintaining material availability and cost control across multiple sites.

Qualifications

Buyer experience in a construction company.
Proficient in Excel.
Strong negotiation skills.
Full driving licence required.
Able to take-offs from drawings.

Responsibilities

Schedule materials for live and upcoming developments.
Calculate bulk quantities for bricks, blocks and tiles and coordinate with manufacturers.
Monitor regional bulk material levels to avoid shortages or overordering.
Submit material cost budgets to department surveyors and report losses.
Collaborate with Site and Contract Managers to process requisitions efficiently.
