Job summary

Barcud, Governance division in Wales, is seeking a Corporate Compliance Officer to strengthen the group’s governance framework through robust compliance, data protection, and risk-management practices.

Reporting to the Head of Governance, the post covers data protection, corporate registers, risk assessment, and liaison with external bodies. Based in Lampeter/Newtown/Aberystwyth, 37 hours, full-time, permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Educated to “A” Level standard or equivalent
• Evidence of continually developing professional knowledge

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the effectiveness of governance by ensuring compliance and supporting strategic objectives
• Coordinate risk management and internal audit processes to uphold strong internal controls and assurance
• Update corporate registers and prepare reports to Board/Committee on a quarterly basis
• Coordinate data returns and submit to Welsh Government and other bodies
• Prepare and submit accounts and confirmation statements to Companies House and the FCA as required
• Advise colleagues on data breaches and report to the Information Commissioner’s Office
• Maintain the association’s risk register and ensure risks are reviewed with risk owners
• Support reports to Board/committees on risk management and internal controls
