Job summary

Connect2Luton is recruiting a Press and Communications Officer for Luton Borough Council. You will lead media relations, deliver strategic communications campaigns, and manage the council’s press office and social media accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating a press office or media environment and developing effective media strategies.
• Ability to develop and deliver creative communications and marketing strategies with measurable impact.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage complex campaigns with research and data to meet service needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a comprehensive media plan across local, national and trade media.
• Build relationships with media and provide expert support to spokespeople.
• Support media activity for emergencies and crisis situations.
• Produce content for external audiences and edit items to ensure high quality.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure channels meet campaign objectives.
