The Role

Are you looking for a new opportunity to utilize your communications and team management skills within an organization that makes a positive impact on society?

In this dynamic role, you'll leverage your expertise, knowledge, and experience to lead a team of communications professionals. Your team will focus on raising awareness, increasing engagement, and shaping perceptions of the Law Society as the voice of the solicitor profession.

You will develop compelling, tailored communication plans, messages, and content that highlight the Law Society's advocacy and campaigns.

Additionally, you'll coordinate proactive and reactive cross-team projects and communication strategies, employing strategic thinking, creative ideas, and relationship-building skills to ensure successful outcomes.

The team's objectives include shifting perceptions regarding the Law Society's strategic priorities, campaigns, and key issues, such as:

  • The role of technology in the legal profession
  • Establishing conditions for the profession's growth, including advocating for better regulation
  • Championing justice and the rule of law
  • Promoting responsible business practices, including our new equality, diversity, and inclusivity strategy

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in developing communication plans and managing projects across different teams, preferably within complex organizations.
  • Solid line management and coaching experience, with the ability to inspire teams in a changing environment.
  • Proven ability to create compelling communications and a strong understanding of current trends and best practices across various channels to meet strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in message development and storytelling. Ability to quickly grasp complex or technical issues and translate them into engaging, understandable content.
  • Experience in deriving insights from data and research to inform strategic decisions.

As a person, you'll be self-motivated, adaptable, proactive, and highly collaborative, capable of working effectively with colleagues at all levels and building positive relationships.

What's in it for you

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a forward-thinking membership organization dedicated to supporting solicitors, safeguarding access to justice, and promoting the rule of law. We are known for our legal expertise and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, fostering a culture of trust, clarity, excellence, and respect.

We offer hybrid working arrangements, a flexible benefits package, a friendly work environment, and opportunities for career development within a professional organization.
