Job summary

Workchain is partnering with a UK luxury manufacturing business to recruit a Commodity Buyer in Oxfordshire. You will own a specialist commodity group, manage supplier relationships, secure material availability and drive continuous improvements within an efficient, cost-conscious supply chain.

The role requires previous procurement experience in manufacturing, strong ERP/SAP skills, and excellent communication and organisational abilities.

Qualifications

• Prior purchasing or procurement experience within manufacturing.
• Experience managing suppliers and procurement within a commodity group.
• Strong SAP ERP experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commercial awareness and proactive problem-solving.
• Self-motivated, resilient and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders to support production demand.
• Ensure materials are delivered to schedule.
• Maintain supplier information in the ERP system.
• Develop and sustain relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements.
• Keep purchase order dates accurate in SAP.
• Proactively resolve supply chain issues to minimise disruption.
• Support broader purchasing and supply chain activities as required.
