Job summary

Bury Council is seeking a Commissioning & Quality Assurance Officer to support delivery of a high-quality, person-centred health and social care market for residents of Bury.

You will collaborate with Commissioning Managers, Strategic Leads, CQC, ICB and providers to ensure contracts and regulatory standards are met while improving outcomes across services such as Care at Home, residential/nursing homes, and supported living.

Qualifications

• Experience working with regulated health and social care providers is desirable.
• 37 hours per week around the usual business week; rota work may be required.
• Ability to collaborate with Commissioning Managers and Strategic Leads.
• Regulatory knowledge about regulated activities.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of the Council’s strategic vision for a diverse, sustainable, and high‑quality health and social care market for residents of Bury.
• Collaborate with CQC, ICB, health partners, providers and other key agencies to discharge responsibilities.
• Maintain oversight of a portfolio of services including Care at Home, residential and nursing homes, supported living, day services and extra care housing.
• Quality assurance activity, contract monitoring, provider engagement, performance reviews and continuous improvement to drive high standards and market sustainability.
