Job summary

Compass Community is seeking a proactive Senior Commercial Manager to partner with the Commercial Director and drive robust commercial practice across the business. You will build financial models, run end-to-end commercial projects, manage contracts and fee uplifts, and report progress to senior stakeholders.

You'll collaborate with Finance, Sales, Business Development and Operations, engaging directly with local authority partners to ensure commercially sound proposals and strong governance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a commercial, finance or business analysis role, ideally in a regulated, service-based or public-sector-facing environment.
• Advanced Excel skills, including building and maintaining complex financial and commercial models.
• Strong project management skills and knowledge of SharePoint.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
• Confident communication with colleagues at all levels and external partners such as local authorities.
• Excellent written and verbal reporting skills; ability to present complex commercial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Director to deliver the commercial strategy and day-to-day operations.
• Build and interpret commercial and financial models for pricing, tenders, contracts and business cases.
• Lead commercial projects end-to-end, from planning to risks, issues and deadlines.
• Produce clear, accurate reports for senior stakeholders.
• Work with Finance, Business Development and Operations to ensure proposals reflect how services run.
• Improve commercial processes, tools and ways of working.
