Job summary

RGB is seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead the commercial strategy across design and consultancy operations in Bath. The role requires senior-level expertise in contract management, risk control and project profitability within construction, engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy.

Hybrid working with occasional travel to Bristol or Birmingham offices is available. You will oversee commercial performance, support project teams, and guide governance across the business,

Qualifications

• Significant commercial management experience within construction, engineering, contracting or consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Experience managing commercial risk and project profitability.
• Experience coordinating across multiple consultants and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to advise senior management on commercial matters.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts, fee proposals, scopes of work and consultant appointments.
• Provide commercial advice on JCT/NEC contracts, novation, liabilities and PI matters.
• Identify and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project teams with change management, additional fee recovery and contractual matters.
• Advise on commercial disputes, claims and risk mitigation.
• Improve commercial reporting, processes and governance across the business.
• Work closely with senior management and project teams to provide commercial guidance and support.
• Support and mentor colleagues to improve commercial awareness across the business.
