Pertemps Tm is seeking a Commercial Director with a strong background in architecture, quantity surveying, and consultancy. Location options include Bristol, Bath or Birmingham, with hybrid working arrangements and a salary of £85,000–£95,000 depending on experience.

The role focuses on commercial management, contract risk, project governance and supporting project teams to maintain profitability throughout projects.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial management experience within construction, engineering, contracting or consultancy.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
• Experience managing commercial risk, contractual obligations, fee negotiations and project profitability.
• Experience working across complex projects involving multiple consultants and stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Reviewing contracts, fee proposals, scopes of work and consultant appointments.
• Providing commercial advice on JCT/NEC contracts, novation, liabilities and professional indemnity matters.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supporting project teams with change management, additional fee recovery and contractual matters.
• Advising on commercial disputes, claims and risk mitigation.
• Improving commercial reporting, processes and governance across the business.
• Working closely with senior management and project teams to provide commercial guidance and support.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues to improve commercial awareness across the business.
