Job summary

Swim England, based in Loughborough, is seeking an experienced Coach and Coaching Developer to support the Flourishing in Coaching strategic plan. This role will shape coaching across swimming, diving, artistic swimming, water polo and open-water swimming, working with coaches and clubs to develop the wider coaching system.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent knowledge and understanding of sport coaching.
• Significant personal experience of coaching within sport.
• Experience supporting the learning and development of individual coaches and groups of coaches.
• A contemporary understanding of coach learning and development.
• Demonstrable experience leading projects from planning through to delivery.
• Experience using digital technology to create or develop e-learning resources and content.
• Strong relationship-building skills with experience of creating and sustaining effective working relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable for different audiences.
• Ability to engage, influence and challenge a broad range of stakeholders.
• Knowledge of inclusive coaching practices and addressing inequalities.
• Experience collecting, analysing and interpreting evidence to inform future activity.
• Curious and reflective approach with willingness to question established practices.
• Resilience, adaptability and ability to work in changing environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout England.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Flourishing in Coaching plan.
• Lead projects from concept through delivery and evaluation.
• Develop the coaching workforce across clubs, regions and disciplines.
• Design meaningful learning experiences for coaches.
• Create and review coach-development programmes across environments and disciplines.
• Work directly with individual coaches and groups of coaches to support learning and development.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence change.
• Collaborate with Swim England teams to support wider strategic objectives.
• Use digital resources to create engaging learning content.
• Monitor and evaluate learning initiatives and capture evidence of impact.
• Promote values and embed flourishing coaching culture throughout the organisation.
