Job summary

Focaldata is seeking an Associate Director to lead strategic client relationships, win complex research work and raise the quality of delivery across our Consulting & Analytics portfolio. This senior, hands-on leadership role combines commercial ownership, trusted client partnerships, and the development of talented researchers—helping organisations make better decisions through fast, rigorous research.

You’ll combine senior client leadership with commercial ownership, oversee major accounts,

Qualifications

8+ years of market research experience or equivalent
Experience leading complex quantitative and qualitative research projects
Strong analytical and communication skills, able to present to senior audiences
Ability to develop compelling proposals and respond to RFPs
Experience managing, coaching, or developing researchers
Commercially minded with emphasis on delivery quality and client service
Interest in using technology and AI to improve workflows

Responsibilities

Own and grow strategic client accounts, expanding our work
Win new business by shaping compelling proposals for large/complex projects
Lead significant projects, set direction, ensure rigorous, useful work and deliver to standards
Review and shape analyses, reports and presentations; contribute hands-on when impact is highest
Act as escalation point for client, quality or margin risks; address issues early
Develop Research Managers through clear expectations and feedback
Improve team processes and technology, including AI tools, to deliver faster and better
