Job summary

Archdiocese of Southwark is recruiting a Deputy Director of Education to provide strategic leadership in Catholic education across the Archdiocese. Working with the Director of Education, you will shape policy, support schools, trusts and academies, and drive improvements in teaching and outcomes while safeguarding the mission of the Church.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in education or diocesan settings.
• Experience of governance, accountability and strategic planning.
• Experience of working with governors, trustees and external partners.
• Commitment to Catholic education and mission.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Education in implementing the Archdiocesan vision for Catholic education.
• Contribute to development, delivery and evaluation of diocesan educational strategy.
• Provide leadership on school improvement, governance and academy growth.
• Deputise for the Director of Education in strategic meetings and public engagements.
• Lead designated areas of the Education Service portfolio.
• Monitor and evaluate school performance and provide support to leaders and trusts.
• Promote excellence in teaching, learning, curriculum development and inclusion.
• Ensure safeguarding and regulatory compliance across services.
