Job summary

Innovus is seeking a Category Buyer to develop and implement category strategies that deliver value for money and high-quality supply chain solutions. You will partner with stakeholders, manage framework relationships, and drive procurement excellence across key suppliers.

The role sits in the Procurement team within Business Services, reporting to the Procurement Manager with no direct reports. A focus on governance, SLAs/KPIs, and data-driven performance will be essential to success.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years procurement / procurement operations / category experience.
• Spend category knowledge and supplier market awareness.
• Proven track record in supplier selection, negotiation and contract management delivering value for money.

Responsibilities

• Supports Procurement Manager, acting as a Procurement & Supply Chain advisor on each category.
• Develops relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and maintains stakeholder maps.
• Develops and implements category strategies/plans, mobilising framework suppliers and demobilising non-framework suppliers.
• Documents implementation plans with business requirements analysis and value-for-money targets.
• Works with Legal, Technical, Health & Safety, Operations to develop contracts with SLA/KPI targets.
• Conducts supplier segmentation and maintains preferred supplier listing with approved product/service lists.
• Manages supplier contracts and conducts regular performance management with suppliers.
• Engages stakeholders and suppliers to address issues and improve procurement practices.
• Develops and maintains stakeholder communication plans for category teams.
• Conducts procurement activity in line with company procedures, Health & Safety, compliance and CSR policies.
