Job summary

CARBOLITE invites a proactive Buyer to join our Purchasing Department on site in Hope, contributing to a resilient supply chain for our growing manufacturing operations. You will manage supplier selection, contracts and performance, ensuring continuity of supply while driving cost savings and process improvements.

The role requires CIPS Level 4 or equivalent, strong negotiation skills, and experience with MRP/ERP and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold CIPS Level 4 or an equivalent purchasing qualification.
• Experience in supplier selection, management and auditing in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of customs import/export procedures advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components and services to meet cost, quality and delivery requirements.
• Maintain continuity of supply and communicate risks or disruptions promptly.
• Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing and terms to deliver savings and value.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and apply procurement best practices.
• Select, assess and manage suppliers with performance reviews and improvement plans.
• Build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support business needs.
• Maintain procurement records, support MRP activities and contribute to KPI improvements.
