Job summary

Terry Parris Associates is recruiting a Buyer to join a long-established global manufacturing group in Pulborough, West Sussex. You will place and expedite orders for raw materials and components, coordinating with Engineering, Planning, Sales and Manufacturing to balance inventory with delivery needs.

You will prepare weekly expedite reports, manage suppliers, and maintain ERP data to support production continuity. Travel may be required as project deadlines dictate.

Qualifications

• CIPS Level 5 qualification is required.
• Strong IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Organised with close attention to detail and priority setting.
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to build supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute weekly expedite reports and update the ERP system.
• Analyse ERP exception messages and place purchase orders for timely delivery.
• Prepare electronic order packs with drawings, BOMs and Gerber files.
• Manage selected suppliers, control inventory and ensure timely flow of materials.
• Develop knowledge of commodities, supplier base and ERP usage.
• Suggest and implement process improvements while following ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and safety requirements.
