Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences in the United Kingdom seeks a Buyer Planner to drive procurement, materials planning, and supplier management, ensuring timely availability of materials and cost-effective sourcing. Based in Irlam, Manchester, this full-time role requires strong analytical and negotiation skills and experience with MRP/Oracle Cloud.

You will create POs, manage quotes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory and supplier performance.

Qualifications

BS/BA in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
Certification CIPS preferred.
Experience in master scheduling and purchasing or planning.
Excellent English communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking and negotiation skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel; Oracle Cloud experience.

Responsibilities

Develop supplier relationships to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Provide demand and delivery feedback to customers.
Participate in SCM meetings.
Analyze pricing and negotiate agreements.
Second source strategic commodities as needed.
Create purchase orders and RFQs with specs and milestones.
Analyze and optimize inventory levels to match manufacturing demand and lead times.
Maintain MRP parameters (lot/ order size, sourcing rules, material cost, lead time).
Coordinate with Supplier Quality on issues and resolutions.
