Adecco Group UK & Ireland is recruiting a Strategic Buyer for a 6-month contract in Leighton Buzzard. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization within an aerospace supply chain.

The position is hybrid with on-site presence Tuesday to Thursday and an ASAP start. Responsibilities include RFQs, cost data analysis, supplier performance reviews, and collaboration with commodity managers to meet customer requirements.

Our client, a prominent player in the aerospace industry, is seeking a motivated and skilled Strategic Buyer to join their dynamic team in Leighton Buzzard. This role presents an exciting opportunity for professionals looking to make a significant impact within a fast-paced environment.

Summary

• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: 6 months
• Location: Leighton Buzzard
• Pay Rate: 23.00 per hour
• Hours: 39 hours per week
• Hybrid - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on site

Key Responsibilities

As a Strategic Buyer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing parts, managing costs, and selecting suppliers based on an established commodity strategy.

Your tasks will include:

• Processing Request for Quotations (RFQs) and cost data for production and development galleys, addressing pricing disputes and Purchase Price Variant (PPV).
• Leading and managing minimal risk work transfers while supporting the execution of gated work transfers.
• Collaborating with tactical counterparts and commodity managers to ensure operational support aligns with customer requirements.
• Analysing demand and pricing to establish appropriate order quantities and batch sizes.
• Reviewing supplier performance, implementing improvement plans, and driving continuous enhancements within the supplier pool.
• Conducting cost analysis and benchmarking in alignment with the commodity strategy.
• Engaging in effective communication with key suppliers and managing monthly performance reviews.

Candidate Profile

Our client is looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Proven experience in sourcing and supplier management, with a strong background in implementing cost savings strategies.
• Excellent cost management and negotiation skills, with a detail-oriented approach to meet deadlines and business objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, alongside exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive attitude with a desire to develop new skills and progress within the organisation.

• Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing sector advantageous
• Familiarity with materials management, including MRP and ERP software preferably SAP
