Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Strategic Alliance Manager to develop, optimise and manage key partnerships that support our mission to deliver our innovative, cost-effective, high-quality products. This role requires a blend of pharmaceutical industry knowledge, relationship management expertise, and strategic thinking to drive mutual value and ensure alignment with our business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential strategic partners, to support the company’s product pipeline and market expansion.
  • Negotiate and structure partnership agreements, including licensing deals, co-development contracts, and supply agreements, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage ongoing alliances, fostering strong relationships with partners to ensure successful collaboration, timely delivery, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, regulatory, supply chain, and commercial) to align partnership activities with product development and market strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify new partnership opportunities and mitigate risks in existing alliances.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for alliances, ensuring partnerships deliver measurable value (e.g., cost savings, market access, or portfolio expansion).
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and partner meetings to build networks and promote our brand.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and international regulations, including MHRA, EMA, and FDA standards, in all partnership agreements.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on alliance performance, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, partnership management, or strategic alliances within the pharmaceutical or generics industry.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and managing complex agreements, such as licensing, supply, or co-development deals.
  • Strong understanding of the generic medicines market, including regulatory requirements, supply chain dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build trust.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a focus on achieving win-win outcomes.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess partnership opportunities, risks, and financial impacts.
  • Knowledge of UK and EU pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., MHRA, EMA) and global standards (e.g., FDA, WHO).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Experience in the generics or biosimilars sector.
  • Established network of contacts within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with emerging markets and global supply chain strategies.
