Job summary

Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) invites an AI Advisor to join the BHF Data Science Centre leadership team, guiding the application of AI and deep learning in cardiometabolic research. You will shape the AI technology strategy, foster collaboration across clinicians, researchers and industry, and ensure ethical, governance-aligned adoption of AI in health research.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AI technology strategy for the Centre, partnering with the AI industry and aligning with national healthcare priorities.
• Provide strategic leadership for AI across cardiometabolic healthcare research and innovation ecosystems, uniting clinicians, researchers, data scientists, healthcare providers, patients and regulators to prioritise data products and services.
• Identify, bring in and develop AI talent through hiring, upskilling and partnerships with academia and industry.
• Build and sustain partnerships across healthcare, academia, technology and life sciences to accelerate AI innovation and implementation.
• Translate high-impact AI use cases into practical healthcare applications with scalable and sustainable solutions.
• Contribute to funding applications and investment proposals for AI innovation and infrastructure.
• Communicate vision, impact and milestones to funders, policymakers and the wider public.
• Champion trustworthy, ethical and transparent AI with governance, safety and public trust.
