Job summary

Bupa is seeking an experienced Lead AI & Data Security Architect to define security standards and govern responsible AI adoption across the organisation. Based in London, Staines or Salford Quays, this hybrid role partners with senior leaders and clinical stakeholders to protect personal and clinical data while enabling innovative AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in security architecture for AI/ML
• Proven ability to lead threat modelling and security reviews
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and frameworks
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure & Azure OpenAI services
• Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, financial services, government)
• Understanding UK GDPR and data protection requirements

Responsibilities

• Define secure AI adoption patterns and security standards across Bupa
• Lead threat modelling and security reviews for AI-enabled solutions
• Develop governance frameworks, controls and assurance processes for AI adoption
• Set security requirements for AI platforms, APIs, integrations and cloud-based AI services
• Identify and manage risks related to unauthorised AI usage
• Provide guidance on AI security decisions and emerging threats
• Collaborate with technology, data, legal and clinical teams to embed security
• Present risk assessments to senior stakeholders
• Assess AI suppliers and third-party solutions from security perspective
• Contribute to standards and reference architectures across technology function
• Support awareness and a security culture around responsible AI use
