Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking an Account Director for a major UK Defence sector contract manufacturing account. You will lead a small team, own a £20m partnership, and work with senior leaders to shape strategy and grow profitability.

You will build executive relationships, drive cross-functional delivery, and oversee forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting to ensure long-term value. Hybrid working in Bedford area offers significant growth.

Qualifications

• Experience leading customer-facing teams in contract manufacturing or technical subcontracting.
• Proven track record with large, complex strategic accounts and multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities with evidence of developing high-performing teams.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
• Excellent commercial awareness including forecasting, planning and growth strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and develop a team of three Account Managers, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Own a key customer partnership worth ~£20m, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
• Build executive relationships across customer organisations and act as trusted partner.
• Champion cross-functional collaboration to ensure delivery excellence and seamless customer experience.
• Drive account planning, reviews and business development to identify growth opportunities.
• Partner with the MD to shape commercial strategy and long-term business planning.
• Ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting across the portfolio.
• Develop succession, capability and performance plans for the team.
